The conference was held on Saturday in Christchurch.
Hamilton investors Neil and Margaret Brimblecombe were runners-up.
The NZPIF said the award was designed to celebrate the high standards members of the organisation demonstrated.
It was jointly sponsored by NZPIF and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
Troy Churton, national industry liaison for MBIE and convenor of the judging panel said it was a close contest.
“The judging panel found that Lyn Marshall had an outstanding care and community orientation to her business,” said Churton. “She had excellent references from some of her tenants who all valued her attention to their needs and the condition of the properties.”
Kevin Green, reportedly the investor with the largest residential portfolio in the UK, was a keynote speaker at the event.
He shared his four Cs of success: Control (successful business people keep control of all aspects of their business, calculate (use IT systems to keep an eye on the numbers), connect (it is not what you know but who you know which is important) and complete (finish off your projects properly).
The conference featured other presentations about the potential for investment in Christchurch and Canterbury and how to make the most of opportunities. Antony Gough gave a passionate and enthusiastic presentation about the Christchurch rebuild and about his own development.
