The office was opened in September last year and had two staff.
Guy Thornewill, was a new hire, and Chris Wright, who has been with Pie Funds for four years, relocated from New Zealand.
Head of investments Paul Gregory confirmed Wright had left recently. He is now listed as an analyst at HC Capital Advisors, in Germany.
He said the London office was still headed by Thornewill, who was a good fit for the business's ambitions for the operation. "He's a very experienced investor in European, Asian and global equities."
Daniel Sims has also left for a role as portfolio manager at Bavaria Industries Group, also in Germany.
Pie Funds founder and chief executive Mike Taylor said, last year, establishing a London office was a natural move as the business expanded.
“Pie has got four products that have an international focus and now with KiwiSaver we are expanding again and a significant portion of the funds managed will be globally focused.”
He said, with a UK/Europe-specific fund, it made sense to have a team in London as opposed to Asia or New York.
International investments had been run from New Zealand for the past five years, he said, but the growth in the business meant it would be easier to have people on the ground interacting with companies there.
“We think we can serve Australia out of Auckland pretty easily and in the same way we can serve Frankfurt out of London.”
