Financial Advice NZ backs Money Week
Financial Advice NZ is lending support to messages encouraging Kiwis to have conversations around financial matters this Money Week.

Money Week runs from this Monday, with the theme “Now we’re talking".
Financial Advice NZ chief executive Katrina Shanks said her organisation was supporting that message, running campaigns online encouraging New Zealanders to have conversations as opposed to directly promoting the use of a financial adviser.
She said the association was open to the idea of resuming a helpline, as the IFA offered in Money Week in past years, if it aligned with the theme.
“This year it’s about encouraging individual conversations and conversations with advisers to get expert advice. People don’t know what they don’t know.”
“Giving your financial life regular attention is crucial for effectively managing your money today and for planning for your future – be that for the next five years, for retirement, or for other milestones,” she said.
“At Financial Advice New Zealand we’re committed to helping New Zealanders be informed and in the drivers’ seat of their financial lives; and it all starts with a good quality conversation.
“We encourage all Kiwis to make the most of the resources and guidance provided by Money Week 2019 to get their own personal money conversations under way. And should those conversations result in queries, plans or concerns that need the knowledge of an expert, we encourage [them] to contact a quality adviser; choose a member of Financial Advice New Zealand.”
