Major milestone for Cigna

Cigna, which acquired OnePath Life last year, is on the verge of reaching "a huge milestone".

Monday, September 23rd 2019, 7:48PM

OnePath's back-office system, Talisman, will be replaced with a new cloud-based application called Sonata. This upgrade will enable the insurer to easily make product and pricing changes and to adapt to advisers' and their customers’ requirements.

As part of this transition to Sonata all applications and requirements will need to be sent to Cigna before 12pm on September 26 to be processed. During the transition there will be no ability to process business until the new system is up and running on October 1.

Cigna is also launching a new payment process . This more efficient, automated process will remove the need for advisers to take customers' credit or debit card details.

"It means customers will no longer have to fill out and send the credit/ debit card authority form to you, which can often be a time consuming process. Instead, customers will receive a secure link via email which will direct them to a secure payment portal to collect their card details."
