The Adviser Platform offers general insurance add-on

The Adviser Platform is offering a new fire and general insurance option for advisers.

Tuesday, October 1st 2019, 9:08PM

It has announced a partnership with general insurance platform Blanket, which gives risk and mortgage advisers the ability to quote and bind house, car and contents policies for clients through an online portal.

If the client wants to go ahead with the policy, payment can be processed and policy documents issued immediately.

The products are underwritten by Ando Insurance Group.

"We're thrilled to partner with Blanket to give advisers a fantastic tool to be able to provide another area of service to their clients. Discussions around house, car and contents cover go hand in hand with mortgage and life insurance conversations, and advisers are enjoying being able to provide a competitive solution for their clients," The Adviser Platform managing director Ryan Edwards said.

"Many risk and mortgage advisers have looked into other fire and general options that have either been too time-consuming or involved several touchpoints with third parties. Blanket allows them to offer a compelling value proposition without an overly complex process to drag the client through."

He said The Adviser Platform wanted to offer advisers tangible value.

"With TAP advisers enjoying full-time admin support from trained professionals, they have the time, the accurate client database, and the support platform to build additional value propositions, like Blanket, into their service offerings with confidence."

Advisers using Blanket would go through a "rigorous accreditation process" and receive compliance support.
