NZFSG adds technology and innovation leader to its board
NZ Financial Services Group adds a tech guru to its board.

New Zealand Financial Services Group (NZFSG), has added leading technology and customer solutions advocate Nicola Riordan to its board as its new non-executive director.
Riordan’s appointment adds to the renewal of NZFSG’s board with Thérèse Singleton appointed to a separate non-executive board role announced last month.
Riordan has more than two-decades of experience and leadership contributions across innovation, technology, data and marketing. Her expertise has been gained throughout global brands including Xero, Skype and TweetDeck. She also has extensive corporate governance experience and is currently a board member of Kordia and New Zealand’s Real Estate Institute.
NZFSG chairman Brendon Smith says Riordan’s contribution would further support the group’s commitment to provide advisers with leading technoloogy and industry insights for unmatched customer outcomes.
“Nicola brings a very broad background of business experience to the board which provides us with a lens that is both B2B and consumer focused,” Smith said.
“Nicola has worked in global corporations and also been influential in the success of many tech start-ups. She’s developed experience across many different business units and she's very experienced in governance, making important contributions on numerous boards throughout New Zealand.
“Her customer-centric approach aligns perfectly with our mission to empower our advisers, providing them with innovative tools and strategies to excel in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
Riordan says "there’s an appetite to use tech to go beyond the accepted boundaries in the adviser-client relationship and it's very exciting to contribute to that journey.”
Other board members include: Brendon Smith, Bruce Patten and Brian Greer. Together with Australian board members Sam White, Andrew Jamson and Ewen Stafford.
