Insurance company continues winning streak

For the second consecutive year Asteron Life has been awarded Life Insurance Company of the Year at the ANZIF Insurance Industry Awards.

Monday, November 25th 2024, 9:11AM

Asteron Life has won the title five times and says keeping insurance accessible and affordable is a priority, especially in these times of economic strain for many.

The company’s executive general manager Grant Willis says its focus is to always put the customer first includes making sure the application process is as simple as possible and easy to understand.

“Using behavioral science and data driven insights, our underwriting team created clear specific questions to make the process not only simple, but less intrusive, wherever possible,” he says.

Willis says Asteron Life’s customers have a voice, which enables the company to focus its attention on the issues that will have the greatest impact. “It’s important that customers understand and appreciate the value of personal insurance to protect their future security. We’re honored to receive this accolade and acknowledgment from the industry.”

Asteron Life’s retention rates were noted by the award judging panel as “significantly higher than industry standards” as evidence of the company’s dedication to customer satisfaction.

It also commended for its outstanding approach to its team’s wellbeing and professional development.

As well as applauding his Asteron Life team for the award win, Willis extended his appreciation to the company’s network of partners including independent financial advisers who connect customers with the appropriate level and type of insurance cover from the suite of products Asteron Life offers.

Willis also extended his thanks to the New Zealand Automobile Association who distribute the insurers' products via its direct channel (AA Life).

“This award win is a great symbol of the success of our fantastic team at Asteron Life, and their dedication to ensuring New Zealanders continue to have access to our services to protect what matters most, and so they can enjoy life knowing their financial security is in order,” Willis says.

Asteron Life is part of Suncorp New Zealand, its Vero brand was also a finalist for General Insurance Company of the Year and its joint venture business (with the NZ Automobile Association) AA Insurance won Claims Team of the Year for the second year running.
