Kevin McLean has joined AXA New Zealand to head up its new independent adviser development team, based in Auckland.McLean, formerly from Tower Managed Funds, believes that the future winners in New Zealand’s financial services industry will be global leaders delivering world class investment and risk management solutions through independent financial and investment advisers.
“I’m looking forward to building an operation focused on providing top class products and support to independent advisers so they can in turn deliver the best to their clients” he says.
AXA New Zealand chief executive, Ross McEwan, says that “AXA is committed to the distribution of our products and services to the end consumer through a professional relationship with an adviser”.
AXA is ranked in the top 20 companies in the world by revenue and amongst the largest asset management firms with over $2.3 trillion under management. “AXA’s recently announced intention to form a joint venture with Alliance Capital in Australasia, along with Alliance Capital’s recent acquisition of Sanford C. Bernstein, one of the USA’s most respected value managers, are good examples of how this industry is becoming more global. Many smaller local institutions will struggle to compete with a global investment leader that has strong local expertise,” McEwan says.
AXA New Zealand general manager of sales Greg Campbell says that “AXA is very serious about the independent adviser market, - it’s a key part of our business strategy which is why we’re so pleased to have Kevin on board.”
