New head of broker services at AMP

AMP Financial Services has appointed Tony Boucher to the position of manager adviser and broker distribution.Boucher has over 25 years experience in the financial services sector, including senior positions with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and most recently with AMP's general insurance arm as state manager in Queensland, Australia managing a large network of financial planners.
This newly created position reinforces AMP's commitment to grow its presence in the broker market in New Zealand. AMP has been in the broker market now for around two years.
"For the past two years we have been working to develop a thorough understanding of the broker market, their needs, requirements and service expectations. This is to supplement our primary distribution medium of a strong, tied-agency adviser network," Boucher says.
"In addition to the strength of the AMP brand, we recognise the need to be able to compete strongly with other providers on product, service, commission, and pricing. Adding value and strengthening relationships with brokers is our primary focus for the immediate future and the year ahead," Boucher says.
