Guardian Trust Funds Management's New Zealand equity manager, Ian Arkle, has retired after 33 years in the industry.
Rickey Ward and James Lindsay are the new joint domestic equities managers.
Ward (left) has been with GTFM for five years working as an assistant manager domestic equities. He has five years actuarial experience with AXA and one year with ANZ McCaughan in stock broking before joining GTFM.
Lindsay (right) has been with GTFM since late 1999, working as an assistant manager domestic equities. James joined GTFM as a part of the Royal & SunAlliance merger and has been with the group since September 1998. Prior to joining GTFM, Lindsay spent four years as a research analyst for stockbrokers Hamilton Hindin Greene.
Bond portfolio manager, Antony Stokes has taken responsibility for GTFM's currency activities.
Stokes will work with money market dealer, Ian Bellew, to implement hedging on behalf of GTFM's clients and will also be looking to add incremental value in this sector going forward. Stokes will continue to have day to day involvement in the New Zealand bond area, working with Fergus McDonald.
McDonald has been promoted to be head of bonds and currency. He has 18 years experience in financial markets and will provide management guidance and leadership to the bond and currency areas, which are increasingly working as a coordinated team.
