Sovereign's three-legged medical campaign

Sovereign says a postcard direct-marketing campaign, aimed at boosting medical insurance sales, has met with a good response.

Close to 100,000 of the postcards – advertising Sovereign’s medical insurance products – have been ordered by advisers, Sovereign marketing manager, risk, Michael Hewes says.

So far the response rate has been about 1% - potentially equivalent to about 1000 people.

It has run more than 20 medical insurance workshops for advisers, many of whom haven’t previously sold much health product in the past.

Sovereign’s began its marketing push three months ago, when the country’s largest health insurer, Southern Cross, was struggling to pay claims on time due of computer problems.
