Girol Karacaoglu has been appointed chief executive of the PSIS and will replace John Price who stepped down from the position in November.Karacaoglu has had a broad range of experience in the financial services sector. He has held senior positions with Westpac and previously with Prudential Assurance and the National Bank of New Zealand. He has also worked at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and has lectured at the Victoria University of Wellington.
"(Girol) takes up the role at a particularly exciting time for PSIS. The small to medium financial services market is increasingly competitive, however PSIS holds an increasingly strong and effective position in that market. The results from this current financial year will be above budget and well ahead of the position last year," PSIS chairman David Gascoigne says.
Karacaoglu will take up the position on April 14.
