BT's new share analyst

Tuesday, April 1st 2003, 7:20AM
BT Funds Management has appointed Paul Richardson to the position of equity analyst for New Zealand equities.
Richardson's appointment supports a strategic decision by BT to grow its New Zealand equities team. He joins BT from UBS Warburg where he was an executive director, and head of Australian telecommunications research since November 2000.
From 1996 to 2000, Richardson was UBS Warburg's Head of New Zealand Research, responsible for covering the telecommunications, utilities and energy and mining sectors. In the 2002 Asiamoney survey for Australian telecommunications research, he was ranked third and he ranked second best Australasian analyst in that survey overall.

Prior to joining UBS Warburg, he spent 6 years working in Asia as a scientist in Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Auckland. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Financial Professional of NZ, and a member of the NZ Stock Exchange.
Richardson will be working alongside BT's other New Zealand equity analyst, Greg Fraser, and chief investment officer Andrew South, to manage the New Zealand equities portfolios for BT Funds Management.
