Airport man lands at Urbus

Urbus Properties has appointed Murray Barclay as chief executive of its management company, Urbus Property Management Ltd.This is a new position based in Auckland.
Barclay has more than 15 years commercial property experience, the last six as general manager - commercial of Auckland International Airport Limited.
Barclay joined the airport company in 1991 and has held various positions including those of marketing manager and business manager. As general manager commercial he has been responsible for planning, marketing and implementing the airport’s development strategy relating to retail, property and associated commercial development.
He has been instrumental in the airport’s land acquisition and development programme. The airport’s retail and property revenues have grown from $18 million to more than $90 million during Barclay's tenure.
At Urbus he will be responsible for maximising investor wealth through planning, developing and implementing the Urbus Properties strategy plan.
Barclay takes up his new position on June 1.
