Wednesday, May 14th 2003, 6:56AM
Tower New Zealand has recently appointed Ken O’Rourke and Barry Read to key roles within its distribution team. Both will be based in Auckland.
O’Rourke has been appointed to the position of business development manager and will be responsible for investment advisers in Auckland and the northern region. He will work closely with Tower’s Wellington based business development manager, Tim Fairbrother, and newly appointed national business development manager investment sales, Fiona Fourie.

O’Rourke has more than 25 years experience in New Zealand’s financial services industry. After 20 years in banking he moved to investments in 1997. Since then he has held business development roles with Prudential, Colonial and Challenger.
Read has been appointed to the position of training manager for the northern region, responsible for the provision of Tower's investment and risk training programs to advisers. He will be working closely with Tower's South Island training manager, Jeff Bailey, and Tower’s business development managers to meet the training needs of advisers.
Read has 15 years experience in New Zealand's insurance and investment industries, having worked successfully in business development roles for AXA, Royal and Sun Alliance and Norwich Union.
