Glee for Klee

It is only the second time in the organisation’s history that a New Zealander has been elected to serve the world’s premier association of financial advisers.
“I’m excited that MDRT has elected me to this role,” says Klee. “It is like being involved with the United Nations, as the position oversees 20 zones worldwide and the responsibility is to ensure that the organisation is meeting the needs of the international members (non-US) and the wider industry they serve.”
The vice presidential role also means Klee will meet other members of the MDRT Management Council in the United States three times over the next year.
Originating as a Professional Association in the USA, the MDRT now has 28,000 plus members throughout 74 countries, the results of a surge of growth outside the US and Canada in recent years.
Klee first qualified as a member of the MDRT in 1980 and is now a Life and Qualifying Member. He recently spoke at their annual meeting in Toronto on the subject of Underwriting Special Risks, an area he specialises in from his Wellington base.
