Phipps’s appointment will further strengthen the New Zealand equity investment capability of New Zealand’s leading fund manager.
"We are delighted John Phipps is joining the team. His experience, capability and demonstrated track record gained over 18 years adds further depth to an already well-resourced and experienced team," head of NZ equities Guy Elliffe says.
Phipps was most recently employed as the investment manager (and analyst) at Macquarie Investment Management where he established the investment management division. Previously he co-founded Coronet Asset Management which was later sold to Challenger International.
Phipps will be based in AMP Capital Investors’ Auckland office and will report directly to Elliffe.
