AIG appoints new Head of Distribution
Friday, November 23rd 2007, 3:16PM
Young, who was promoted from the role of National Sales Manager, will ensure that all channels through which AIG Life receives and directs its business are maximised and managed efficiently. These channels include the independent financial adviser market (incorporating insurance and mortgage advisers), a bank model, the AIA Financial Services Network, and group business solutions.
Young says key elements of the role are to establish optimal communication with advisers and ensure that strategies for each channel are shared by both AIG Life and advisers while recognising that each channel is different.
"We're interested in supporting advisers, and we understand that no two adviser businesses are the same. We want to help advisers grow their businesses by providing the tools for them to operate as they choose. It's a collaborative process, and we will earn the right to get their business and be a key provider."
Before joining AIG Life Young, a former ski professional, worked for five years as Business Development Manager for Sovereign, and for three years as an insurance adviser.
AIG has also appointed Claire Douglass to the role of Marketing Executive, with responsibility for supporting and delivering marketing communications to independent financial advisers; supporting the implementation of AIG Life's communications strategies and marketing plan objectives; and providing project management leadership for promotional and direct marketing campaigns.
Prior to joining AIG she spent three years with Telecom.
