Three stars for Southern Cross
Southern Cross Healthcare and Medical Care Society have three new team members.

Peter Tynan (right) is the new chief executive health insurance. He has been with the not-for-profit organisation since 2004 and formerly headed up its marketing and distribution operations.
The Southern Cross Medical Care Society has signed up Anthony McPhail to its senior management team, in the role of chief operating officer, members' services. Victor Klap (left) fills the new role of group manager, public-private and primary care partnership.The strategic role will explore initiatives for Southern Cross to work collaboratively with primary health providers and with the public health system.
Klap’s former roles include chief executive of the Independent Practitioners’ Association of New Zealand, chief executive of the Southern Regional Health Authority and manager funding, health reform directorate in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
McPhail will be responsible for the health insurer's claims operations, the customer services and prior approval contact centres, policy and group scheme administration and communications with the society's 840,000 members.
He has been with Southern Cross since 1995 in a range of roles, most recently as membership manager.
