Thursday, September 17th 2009, 9:08AM
She brings with her 27 years of experience in the New Zealand life insurance industry and joins Accuro from ING New Zealand, where she was managing director.
Ballantyne was chief operating officer of Sovereign and later founded Club Life, which was sold to ING NZ in 2004.
A sort-after motivational and keynote speaker, Ballantyne says she was drawn to Accuro's values and the obvious integrity of the existing board.
"Accuro is a company I can believe in. It's a co-operative, and exists for the good of its members. Accuro is growing its customer base and I'm delighted to be able to use my experience to help Accuro grow further and deliver real benefits for its members.
"Becoming a Board member provides me with the comfort of an industry I know very well and enables me the luxury of stepping away from working in a business to working on a business," she says.
Ballantyne joins board members, Geoff Annals (Chair), Bridgit Vivian, Anne Hare, Wayne McLachlan, Bernie Wood and Martin Stokes.
