Collins as general manager institutional will be responsible for maximising the opportunities in Sovereign's institutional and workplace business, working closely with its key corporate partners.
For the last two years Collins has headed up Sovereign's SovNet and Key Account group channel and led Sovereign's Life Tax and Regulation Response team.
The culmination of this work was released at the SovNet conference last week.
The enhancements to SovNet now position this channel as the leading aligned offering in the market.
He has a law degree from Otago University, an MBA from London.
Mike Weiss joined Sovereign in 1999 heading up the Claims department before moving into Strategy and Planning. From there he went on to establish the Institutional Business channel catering to corporate and bank partners.
As the head of Institutional Business and as a member of Sovereign's Executive Management Team, Weiss has overseen dramatic growth in this channel. He is now specialising in the bancassurance business as ASB Bancassurance general manager.
Weiss completed his MBA at Massey University and says he is passionate about the industry and is determined to make life insurance accessible to all New Zealanders.
