Ayres comes to the scheme from a substantial background in the financial sector.
He ran his own mortgage broking business for 11 years and has extensive involvement in the development and governance of the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association (NZMBA).
Most recently he has managed packaging and importing businesses, project managed residential and commercial property developments and contracted to a finance company with lending services, market research and project management.
Ayres says he is passionate about the principles and possibilities at FDR in making a positive difference to businesses of financial service providers and also to consumers' interests.
"This is a new and very necessary environment for almost the entire financial industry, and FDR is really well placed to assist both providers and consumers to make the most of the regulations from both perspectives.
FDR is the newest scheme to be established under the Financial Advisers Act and it is operated by Dispute Resolution Services Ltd (DRSL), which has 10 years' experience in dispute resolution services
