HSBC has increased its six-month fixed home loan rate this morning by 50 basis points taking it to 5.49%, however it is still the lowest rate offered. The nearest rate offered by a bank is Westpac's 6.25%.
HSBC also cut its two, three and five-year rates by 25, 10 and 6 points respectively.
