Hassan joins international body
Auckland-based adviser Simon Hassan has been appointed to the Standards Committee of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB).

The board is the standards-setting body and owner of the CFP and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER trademarks.
Hassan's term is for two years starting on January 1, 2011.
The Standards Committee oversees FPSB's standards-setting process, and ensures that FPSB's certification standards meet the needs of clients and potential clients of financial planners around the world.
"Simon's practical experience providing comprehensive financial planning advice coupled with his work on emerging financial adviser regulation in New Zealand, will serve FPSB's Standards Committee well as it oversees the establishment and maintenance of FPSB's global competency, ethics and practice standards for the financial planning profession," FPSB Board chairperson Corinna Dieters says.
Hassan is also a member of the Disciplinary Committee for authorised financial advisers. A past president of the Institute of Financial Advisers and a financial adviser since 1990.
