Guy Harvey-Samuel, group general manager, head of international Asia Pacific for HSBC, said, "We believe that HSBC's strong commercial banking capabilities and wide international network are highly valued by clients in New Zealand who are increasingly tapping into Asia's rising intra-regional trade. Noel's strong commercial banking and trade finance experience will be invaluable in driving expansion within our New Zealand operations."
McNamara is currently head of commercial banking for HSBC Bank Australia and will take over the role from current New Zealand CEO David Griffiths.
"We would like to thank David for his contribution to our New Zealand business, which now has a strong commercial banking platform supporting a growing base of international customers," said Harvey-Samuel.
McNamara has worked for HSBC Bank Australia Limited since 1995 in various roles including commercial banking, corporate banking, trade services and branch operations.
