Reporting to Pierre Jond, the managing director of BNP Paribas Australia and New Zealand, Dench will lead the bank’s business development in New Zealand, supporting its growth and ongoing momentum in the Asia Pacific region.
Jond said, "Barry is the ideal candidate to lead our New Zealand team. He has an in-depth understanding of our business operations and client base, and his credentials - in both operation and client facing capabilities - are second to none."
Dench replaces Hugh Stevens who is moving onto a new global role as head of private equity and real estate services in Paris.
Dench said, "BNP Paribas has achieved a number of significant client wins in the last 12 months. I am very much looking forward to working closely with what is already a significant on-the-ground team of specialists, to further develop our New Zealand business."
