Aust govt moves to protect financial advisers
Wednesday, November 28th 2012, 2:06PM
Draft legislation has been drawn up by the Australian government to protect the terms "financial adviser" and "financial planner".
If passed it will prevent anyone who is not a qualified financial planner or financial adviser from telling consumers that they are.
The measure will help to protect consumers from "product spruikers" who might hold themselves out to be authorised financial advisers when they are not.
