Morrison said he has decided to return to Auckland. “Three years travelling back and forth from Auckland is a long time and with daughters still living at home I want to spend more time with my family”.
Geoff Annals will be taking over the role immediately. He is currently the Accuro's chairman and will resign from that role to take up the permanent post of CEO.
Annals knows the business well, having been a director for eight years, and chairman of the board for the past four years and was available to take on the role. “Geoff will immediately be able to continue the progressive and exciting work that makes Accuro so unique.”
With his experience as CEO of theNZ Nurses Organisation, and his experience in a range of clinical and managerial positions within the public health sector he is uniquely positioned to take over this role with the least amount of turbulence for advisers and members.
Morrison will be working with Annals to ensure a smooth transition and phase out of the organisation, finishing up a number of projects and handing over to Annals over the next month.
“This is a good news story," Morrison says. "I am proud and sad to be leaving Accuro, but at the same time I can return to my home and my family knowing I have left Accuro in the best possible hands.”
