James Wesley has joined Tyndall NZ as Head of Distribution. He will be responsible for leading Tyndall’s business development team and has overall responsibility for the sales, marketing and client servicing functions within the business.
Wesley joins Tyndall from UK-based Threadneedle Investments, where he was Director, Head of Australia, Wholesale Distribution.
“It is a great opportunity to have someone of James’ pedigree come back to the New Zealand marketplace,” said Peter Lynn, Tyndall’s managing director “It is even more exciting that James will be part of the Tyndall team and lead the future direction of our business development, which is focused on securing our position as New Zealand’s leading investment manager.”
Tyndall is the only New Zealand investment manager owned by a global asset manager. The firm was purchased by Tokyo-based Nikko Asset Management in 2011.
“With the growth in KiwiSaver, in particular, it is a very exciting time for the industry and Tyndall is well placed to take advantage of the opportunities to look after and grow our clients’ investments,” Lynn said. “James has a background in sales, advertising and many years working for both retail and wholesale fund managers in the UK. We are looking forward to him continuing his overseas success in further developing our offerings and broadening Tyndall’s distribution reach to all sectors of the New Zealand market.”
