Morningstar staff movements
Chris Douglas, Australasia Co-Head of Fund Research at Morningstar, has been promoted to a new role leading the company’s American regional data team.

He is to relocate to Chicago in September.
Morningstar has appointed Tom Whitelaw as Director of Manager Research Ratings, working alongside Tim Murphy, Director of Manager Research. Both will report to Grant Kennaway, Director of Manager Research, Asia-Pacific.
Whitelaw will be responsible for chairing Morningstar's ratings committee and managing the research team and schedule. Murphy is responsible for leading Morningstar’s manager research services, which include investment committee participation, approved product list management, and analyst access relationships.
Whitelaw has worked in the firm's Australasian manager research team since 2010. He joined Morningstar in 2007, and worked in the UK manager research team for three years. Before that, he worked in fund research roles with Aviva and Pearson Jones.
Morningstar said it was committed to continuing to provide investors and advisers with independent, timely research on New Zealand and Australian funds, and to maintaining and expanding its KiwiSaver coverage. Stuart Auld will continue to service the needs of New Zealand clients from the Auckland office.
