It is the first time Planet has had a presence in that area.
Steve Maley is the director of Trinity Insurance, and has his principal office in Blenheim. He has more than 10 years’ experience in the risk sector.
The addition of Steve Cox in Christchurch increases the number of advisers in the area to 11.
The third new addition is Adrian Scwarz, an AFA based in Wellington. He re-establishes Planet’s presence in the capital after Straas Holdings moved to Wairarapa. Schwarz has been in the industry since 1986.
Planet said it had turned down a number of other applications because they were not the right fit for the group.
“Planet is not about number of members but more about maintaining synergies and long-term consistency. After a probationary period, members are invited to become equal shareholders in the 100% member-owned group so it is very important to us that there is the right synergy with the rest of our members.”
