Dominic Johnson, co-founder of Somerset Capital Management LLP in London, has become a shareholder in New Zealand boutique fund manager Castle Point.
Somerset Capital Management LLP is a global emerging markets specialist with USD$6 billion in assets under management.
Johnson said: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to invest personally in Castle Point. I have known the team for many years and believe that they represent an excellent example of thoughtful, long term, stock picking in an ever frenetic and short term world. I see the New Zealand savings market as a very promising land of opportunity. This makes it an exceptional environment for Castle Point to offer their clients value added, specialist products, such as their flagship Ranger Fund.”
Richard Stubbs, partner at Castle Point, said: “We are delighted to have Dominic as a shareholder in Castle Point. It is fantastic to have the unequivocal endorsement of such a successful and experienced international investor.”
