The life insurer and retirement savings provider held an awards dinner attended by AMP employees, AMP Financial Adviser Network (AFAN), Spicers, AdviceFirst and independent advisers.
The AMP Adviser Business of the Year Award went to Certus Financial Group, based in Newmarket. Director Brendon White was Adviser of the Year.
The Adviser Business of the Year award was decided based on quality of advice and for the highest overall business performance across all advice disciplines in 2014.
White’s co-directors are Warren Robertson and Mike Sheehan.
AMP director of advice and sales Blair Vernon said: “I was very pleased to be able to present these awards to Certus Financial Group and Brendon White. The award selection is based on achieving outstanding sales performance, customer retention and attracting new business, and they have demonstrated solid results across all these disciplines. Achieving the Adviser Business of the Year Award, along with Brendon receiving the AMP Adviser of the Year, is a great testimony to this business.”
White and Robertson said the awards were unexpected.
“Receiving awards like this don’t happen without a great team of people behind us,” said Robertson. “We have a great team of advisers at Certus who are so incredibly passionate about what they do.”
Jason De Montalk, of Dunlop Insurance in Hawera was the New Adviser of the Year.
"I was very pleased to be able to present this award to Jason, who has demonstrated commitment to AMP and Dunlop Insurance through his focus on attracting new business and achieving outstanding sales results,” said Vernon. “We like to recognise new advisers who embody the qualities of commitment and trust, and who genuinely help our customers with sound financial advice, and put the customer at the centre of everything they do.”
The runners-up in this category were Bryan Leith, from AMP Leith Mackie in Waipukurau and Emma Chow, from AMP Genesis Financial Services in Auckland.
Lynette Ball was named Spicers’ Adviser of the Year.
The Spicers’ Adviser of the Year is recognised as the top performing Spicers’ Adviser for 2014 based on overall performance, excellence in sales, net cash flows and business operation.
Chris White, Spicers managing director, said Ball had demonstrated commitment through her sales figures, customer retention and attracting new business.
