FMA's Campbell moves on
The FMA's director of compliance, Elaine Campbell, is to become General Legal Counsel at life insurer and retirement savings provider AMP.
Tuesday, March 17th 2015, 3:31PM
The appointment follows an internal move which has seen Therese Singleton take on the role of General Manager Insurance and Investments and will see her responsible for the Strategic Partnership, Wealth Management, Group Wealth Protection and Individual Wealth Protection Product teams.
Campbell’s appointment is effective mid-May and she will be based in the Auckland office.
She will be responsible for leading AMP’s legal and compliance function, as well as steering the organisation through the regulatory change programme facing the New Zealand financial services industry.
Her extensive experience has included senior positions at a number of organisations, including Russell McVeagh, NZX Limited, and New Zealand Markets Disciplinary Tribunal. During her career, Elaine has led major transformational programmes, including the development and implementation of supervisory and licensing regulation for financial market participants.
AMP managing director NZ Jack Regan said: “I am delighted to welcome Elaine to AMP and to my leadership team. Elaine’s extensive leadership and stakeholder management experience, along with her robust and deep industry knowledge, will be a great addition to AMP.”
The FMA said Campbell had been with it since it was established. “She has made an outstanding contribution to the FMA during this critical phase in embedding the new regulatory framework and the new financial markets conduct legislation. We wish her every success in the future.”
