Blake is an experienced and respected business figure in New Zealand, having held a number of senior positions and directorships.
In 2013 he retired from DB Breweries after 20 years as chief executive and managing director, before taking up the role of chairman of the company’s board for a further year.
A Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, Blake has considerable governance experience. He is currently Chairman of Hynds Limited and Barworks Hospitality Group. He also chairs the New Zealand Leadership Institute, part of the Auckland University Business School.
Blake has held a number of previous directorships, including positions with several DB Breweries’ subsidiary companies and joint ventures, and the Brewers Association of Australasia.
Chairman Ian Braddock said Blake’s business expertise would be an asset to the board and deliver an exciting new perspective for the company as it continues to grow and cement its leadership in the New Zealand life risk sector.
“Brian’s strong business acumen and focus on driving growth through sound strategy will be a valuable addition to the board. We look forward to drawing on his wealth of experience as we take the company into its next phase of growth.”
