It has named Fiona Fourie project manager, investment services and Lynne Carroll head of risk and compliance.
Fourie has 30 years’ business development and financial services experience from senior roles with large financial entities in New Zealand and Australia.
Based in Christchurch, Fourie is an expert in industry regulation and the areas of Managed Funds, Trusts, Wills and Estates through key roles with AMP, AXA and Tower.
She said: “In the early 2000s there was a lot of noise about regulation, and I took a keen interest and moved into the field to expand my knowledge of current law and regulatory changes.
“I honed my compliance skills and knowledge through the creation of industry-leading advice-based templates for client advisors in my role at AMP, and further cemented my knowledge during a 13-month contract role with a Christchurch-based financial planning business during which I implemented a new system to ensure ease of compliance.”
Meanwhile, Carroll brings more than 15 years’ experience in compliance and risk management from senior roles with large financial entities in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
She joins the business from HSBC and was most recently based in London, where she supported two global banks through conduct risk and compliance projects in the complex post-GFC regulatory environment in the UK and European Union.
Carroll says her role at Perpetual Guardian will be focused on ensuring best practice risk and compliance frameworks meet an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
