Led by Kevin and Nicola Smee, principals of Solutions Financial Services, one of the largest independent locally owned risk insurance companies, mySolutions will supply sound business training and mentoring to insurance advisers and upskill existing practitioners seeking to move into the business insurance sector and serve the underinsured SME market.
In addition to the Smees’ leadership mySolutions has three sales directors, all active advisers, in Antony Erickson, Glen Hatcher and Keith Kerr. Each takes an assertive stance on the improvement of industry standards, the protection of consumers and the growth of a knowledgeable, high-quality adviser network in New Zealand.
As a new national group mySolutions has already welcomed a number of leading advisers to the membership, to which bi-weekly training and ongoing support is available. They call themselves the “Solutions Tribe”, Mr Hatcher, head of operations said.
“We are like a big family. We love to get everyday people doing extraordinary things.”
All members also have access to a unique web-based, best-practice system that includes an end-to-end paperless client engagement process to streamline advice and sales for clients, advisers and industry providers.
”All our training is recorded on video so advisers can access the online library at any time to freshen up on sales skills, product updates and best practice," Mr Erickson who leads training and education says.
Mr Kerr, who has more than 27 years’ experience in mortgage and insurance advice, says: “Our holistic approach helps advisers to unlock opportunities within their practices to refer, upskill and cross-sell while remaining the lead adviser in the process."
A goal of mySolutions is to use its leverage as an industry body to promote more high-quality advisory services.
Mr Smee is adamant that “New Zealand businesses require this support, and Kiwi families need the professionalism and expertise that they can receive from a highly skilled and informed adviser with the flexibility to offer a choice of suppliers. A key objective is to raise the standard of advice across the industry to ensure that every client gets what they need to grow and protect their wealth.
“Events over the past couple of years have highlighted that good professional sales training, high industry standards, and a level of collaboration are needed among those in finance-related industries. This will help ensure the ultimate protection of consumers and the ongoing integrity of the industry. This is what mySolutions stands for.”
