Friday, August 12th 2016, 11:38AM

AMP Capital has appointed Greg Fleming as its new Head of Investment Strategy.

Based in Wellington, Fleming will work closely with the wider AMP Capital team to ensure the best investment ideas globally are incorporated into local portfolios as well as being responsible for ensuring AMP Capital’s diversified fund range meet the expectations of New Zealand clients. He will report to AMP Capital New Zealand Managing Director, Grant Hassell.

Fleming is currently at First NZ Capital (FNZC) where he joined as a research strategist in the Wealth Management Research team in mid-2015. Prior to this he spent nine years as a senior analyst for Credit Suisse Private Banking and Wealth Management in Zurich. Before joining Credit Suisse, he spent four years as global economist of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation based in Zurich, and a year with Grosvenor Investment Management in Wellington.

He began his career in 1997 as an economic research analyst with Westpac Investment Management.

Hassell said he is pleased that such an experienced candidate is joining AMP Capital’s New Zealand business.

“Greg has almost 20 years’ experience in investment markets and deep knowledge of asset allocation strategies. Greg also brings extensive international experience to the role having spent much of his career based in Zurich”, Hassell said.

“This is an important appointment for our business as we remain committed to achieving outstanding results for our clients in assisting them to meet their investment objectives. I look forward to welcoming Greg to our team”.
