The TripleA has appointed Mary Gordon as its new independant chairman. Gordon will be introduced to the board at its first meeting in March 2017 and officially take over the chairs role for the second board meeting mid-2017.
Current chairman John Wood says Gordon brings with her a wealth of knowledge, both at the governance level and operational management.
"Her commercial experience expands across the financial sector, management consulting, health, architecture and E-commerce. As well as holding several directorship roles, Mary and her husband also have their own business, Abbey Rose – candles and fragrances."
"I am truly excited about Mary’s appointment, and feel that the timing could not be better for the TripleA, especially as we await the Government's announcement on the changes to the FAA and most importantly how it will impact on us all.
"This changing business environment is nothing new for Mary. Being heavily involved in the health sector for several years, Mary has seen similar changes in that industry and is certainly up for the challenge to lead the TripleA Board and its members in taking on these changes and helping all members to grow stronger and better financial service practices.
"Mary has a down to earth approach. She has expressed a strong desire to have as much connectivity with members as possible. Mary’s keenness to hear directly from members about what their key issues and concerns are, aligns well with the board's business plan to focus strongly on being a truly valued added association."
The association was established in 1949 as the National Mutual Field Officers Association and in more recent times the AXA Advisers Association or AAA. The purchase of AXA by AMP led to it to adopt the brand name TripleA.
