Denis Haggitt has been appointed as chief financial officer, Megan Matuschka has joined the firm as HR Manager, and Vanessa Otang has been promoted internally to the position of investment adviser, from associate adviser.
Haggitt brings more than two decades of relevant industry experience to the CFO role, having previously worked as a financial controller for a number of banking institutions throughout New Zealand, the UK and Europe – including Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas and HSBC London. He joins Hobson Wealth from Westpac New Zealand, where he held the role of finance business partner for more than two years.
Matuschka’s career in human resources began more than 15 years ago as a graduate trainee in the FMCG industry. Her most recent role was as a Senior HR Business Partner with British American Tobacco Global Headquarters in London.
Otang has previously worked across a number of roles relating to the accounting and advisory industry, both in New Zealand and overseas in Australia and the UK – including more than three years spent as a financial planner, most recently at Westpac NZ.
Hobson Wealth Partners managing director Warren Couillault said: “These recent appointments are indicative of Hobson’s ongoing commitment to attracting, developing and retaining exceptional people, and to ensure we’re delivering exceptional investment outcomes for our clients.
“Megan in particular will be critical to that mission in the coming months and years - working closely with the Hobson Wealth executive team to establish and lead the organisation’s people agenda. We’re delighted to have Megan, Denis and Vanessa as part of the team.”
