Fisher Funds chairman resigns

Fund manager's chair is turning his focus to a more pressing concern.

Tuesday, March 6th 2018, 6:00AM

Fisher Funds chairman John Wells has retired to focus on his role at troubled insurer CBL.

It appointed voluntary administrators last month after trouble with its French building warranty business.

In a statement, Fisher Funds said Well has overseen major change in the shareholding of the company and was retiring with his contribution to the company complete.

He would be succeeded as the chairman by non-executive director David Clarke.

"We would like to acknowledge the great service Sir John has provided to Fisher Funds over an extended period of time."
