Tony Dench will take over when Black retires from the chief executive role in April.
Share is a nationwide co-operative of 78 financial advisers providing advice on insurance, investment and mortgages.
“I am delighted to welcome Tony to lead our team at Share”, Richard Thomas, chair of the organisation's board, said.
“I’m optimistic about this appointment and have a high level of confidence that Tony is the right person to take Share through its next stage of development.”
Dench has more than 25 years of commercial experience in finance and accounting with 13 years of those in New Zealand with BNZ.
He has held a number of leadership and governance roles during this time. Most recently, he was senior partner with BNZ Partners leading the commercial banking team across North Harbour and West Auckland. He has both a legal and accounting background and is also the chair of the Takapuna Beach Business Association.
“I’m excited to be joining Share at a time of change and opportunity in the financial services industry,” Dench said.
“As the business celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is well positioned to build on its success and to continue to deliver great solutions to our customers through our advisers and partners.”
