Ivamy takes over the general manager role from Jonathan Cron, who founded the company with Penny Cron in 1999. Ivamy has a wealth of experience garnered over more than 30 years in the industry; his most recent role was as Senior Manager National Partnerships and Business for Perpetual Guardian, and he has held client management, sales, training and strategic advisory roles with Perpetual Trust, Guardian Trust and other entities in several New Zealand cities.
NZTS was acquired to join Perpetual Guardian in the Complectus group of companies in 2015, and the two businesses are partnering in key delivery areas as NZTS deepens its specialist focus on trusts and estate planning.
Ivamy will lead NZTS from its Auckland office on Remuera Road, and will make frequent visits to its second office in Christchurch, a familiar haunt – he is a native Cantabrian.
He says the business will be strengthening its focus on TrustGuard as a tool to protect clients’ interests. This work is fundamental, especially in light of the proposed new Trust Act – our attitude as advisers is that forewarned is forearmed. There is still a need to ensure that people who have trusts in place enjoy all the benefits, and the legal obligations are met. Trusts are not a ‘set and forget’ document – they should be managed well to give peace of mind that the protections and benefits available through them are maintained.
Cron says, “Bryan is the ideal person to lead NZTS at a time when personalised advice, client advocacy and good process have never been more important. Bryan’s background in personal and corporate client services have given him a balanced and comprehensive view of the industry and of the value of open and honest relationships in good estate planning. NZTS, and its specialist provisions for estate planning and trust management, will thrive under his management.”
Ivamy also joins Jonathan Cron and John McFetridge as directors of NZTS.
