Sam Bryden joins Nikko AM NZ after 13 years working in financial markets, most recently as head of relationships for Aegis, and before that head of business development at ASB Securities. He has also worked for Westpac, BNZ and Dexia Bank. He attended University of Canterbury, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing.
James Wesley, head of distribution, Nikko AM NZ, said Bryden would primarily be responsible for managing and growing the firm’s advisory relationships.
"As we continue to grow our client base and distribution reach, Sam’s experience and network will be beneficial in helping to support our advisor relationships and capitalize on our growth momentum,” Wesley said. “Sam has led the relationships team at the Aegis investment platform since the start of 2017, where he has grown the sales channel and implemented structural change to increase sales efficiency."
Nikko AM NZ actively manages approximately $5.2 billion of investments, including corporate superannuation schemes, community and charitable trusts, foundations, financial planners, banks, insurance companies, KiwiSaver schemes, other fund managers and retail investors. It manages domestic assets through its Auckland-based investment team and employs carefully selected offshore managers to manage global assets.
