Land zoned for mixed residential and commercial use offers architects more scope to create homes with a difference.

Anyone who has built or renovated a home in a residential character zone in the city understands the complexity of trying to satisfy planning and consent issues. Homeowners often suffer under the pressure of huge delays, especially if they attempt to stretch the boundaries for a more innovative design. As paperwork trips backwards and forwards between the designer and the council, it can be many months before final approval is granted.
Rubbing shoulders with residential zones, pockets of Business 4 Mixed Use zoning aren’t bogged down with the same constraints. Consequently, they’re always sought after by developers, professional people and homeowners with a hankering to create a home that’s different from those all around.
