Planner: Kerikeri problem can be fixed
Auckland planner Brian Putt said last week as far as he knew Kerikeri and Queen Street in Auckland were the only centres in New Zealand with no height restriction.

Speaking at Vision Kerikeri's inaugural annual general meeting, he said the omission should be treated as a mistake and it should be easy to fix.Mr Putt is a town planner and resource management consultant. He has also served as an elected member of local government.
Vision Kerikeri asked the Far North District Council to reinstate a 10m height limit in the Kerikeri Town after Kerikeri Serviced Apartments Ltd last year applied for resource consent for an eight level building in Butler Road, comprising 42 hotel rooms, 44 apartments and 111 car parks.
