NZX expands funds team
NZX is shrugging off suggestions it should sell its fund business, with the creation of two new senior positions.

The stock exchange operator has hired Thom Bentley as Smartshares head of institutional sales and is also looking for a new head of product and investments.
That new role will include some of the services, such as asset allocation and macroeconomic research, currently outsourced to MyFiduciary.
According to an advertisement for the role, that person will be required to liaise with the investment committee, perform stress-testing, cover asset allocation for diversified funds and appoint managers.
They will also be responsible for client meetings, presentations and investment seminars.
Bentley is founder of Remarkable Capital and was previously with Pie Funds, where he was head of investor relations.
