Carmen Moran
Heartland hired Moran earlier this month as relationship manager for Otago & Southland. She is expected to handle the bank's adviser network, and has years of experience working with mortgage brokers across the country.
Moran joined Westpac in 2012 and held a number of adviser-relations roles, including BDM for Otago & Southland, National Training and Accreditation manager, BDM for the North Island, and lastly South Island BDM.
In her last Westpac role, Moran was responsible for more than 200 adviser relationships in the Southland region. While at Westpac, Moran's role included training and oversight of adviser performance and conduct, according to her LinkedIn page. Moran is known for her passion to improve professional standards in the adviser and lender sectors, and has a strong background in training and compliance.
Moran has a long career in financial services, which began as an ANZ banker in the 1980s. She also has 12 years of experience as a self-employed business owner in Central Otago.
The Heartland hire will provide a boost for the NZX-listed bank, as it aims to build its adviser network in Southland, sources told TMM Online.
Westpac confirmed Moran's departure, while Heartland did not respond to a request to comment.
Westpac is searching for Moran's successor and an appointment is expected after the New Year. Shirley Reynolds has taken over Moran's South Island BDM role on a temporary basis.
