Slater was previously general manager of FSCL and client services manager at FDRS before taking his current role as general manager of the Resolution Institute.
He has now been appointed to the FDRS advisory council, which provides guidance and support to the dispute service.
The council is made up of an independent chair, two industry representatives and two consumer representatives, of which Slater will be one.
“Trevor is well known to us here at Financial Dispute Resolution Service, having previously led our team. We know that Trevor will bring a balanced consumer perspective to the council, as he has a unique understanding of the disputes that financial service providers and their clients may find themselves in. Trevor is well known for focus on early dispute resolution and we are delighted to continue his connection with Financial Dispute Resolution Service,” said Liz Hogan, head of FairWay’s commercial services which includes Financial Dispute Resolution Service.
Slater replaces Bill Bevan, who resigned in August. The council currently has one vacancy, as Dr Pushpa Wood also stepped down at the recent AGM.
“While we are very pleased to have Trevor on board, sadly we have said goodbye to Bill and Pushpa. I would like to thank them both for their commitment and contributions to the Financial Dispute Resolution Service,” Hogan said.
