Westpac's investment arm, BT gets a new head of investments

The CIO of a global investment firm, and default KiwiSaver provider has taken over the top investment job at BT Funds.

BT Funds Management has appointed Philip Houghton-Brown as Head of Investment Solutions.

Houghton-Brown has held the role of Chief Investment Officer at Mercer (NZ) and prior to that its Head of Investments over the past eight years.

He has also previously held senior roles at OnePath NZ/ING NZ and AMP Asset Management.

Westpac NZ acting Head of Investments and Insurance, Nigel Jackson, said Houghton-Brown would bring a wealth of expertise to the role.

“Philip has a strong background in managing investment portfolios for retail, wholesale and institutional clients.

 

“His breadth of knowledge in managing balanced funds will provide real value to BTNZ and our investors.

 

“It’s exciting to be bringing in someone of Philip’s calibre and experience to lead our Investments Solutions team.”

 

Mr Houghton-Brown takes up his role with BTNZ in late September.
